TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Teams At Work

Teams At Work is a team development system designed with the goals of building teams (and organisations) that are more satisfying to work in, and achieve better results. It incorporates business and team performance measures, and also gets beneath the surface to the level of the informal group dynamics and communications that can be at work - sometimes supporting and sometimes frustrating formal organisational efforts.

The Teams At Work approach is the result of extensive research and development by Principal Consultant Paul Murphy. It combines an array of tools including a specialised team performance profiling instrument (the Team Diagnostic Questionnaire or TDQ). The TDQ uses the perspectives of team leaders and members to identify the key issues impacting on a team; whether they are in the areas of goal and role clarity, talent management, operational processes, interpersonal factors, recognition and support, or team impact. This benchmarks your team performance as a starting point for the process, and against other teams. With this clarified, the way forward becomes clearer.

Teams are made of people, and if a team development process does not consider the "people factors" it may miss the mark altogether.

Sometimes a team development process requires a focus on supporting the team leader, and where this is indicated we provide this support through one-to-one coaching or other appropriate measures.

With this wholistic approach, Teams At Work incorporates business and team performance measures, and also gets beneath the surface to the level of the informal group dynamics and communications that can be at work - sometimes supporting and sometimes frustrating formal organisational efforts.

Where once there was dissatisfaction, internal politics and under-performance or just compliance, we can ultimately achieve commitment, willingness to excel and the synergies that should come from a talented diverse group of people effectively organised to work in the one direction.

When the solutions based on the TDQ team benchmarking are effectively implemented, this system produces positive outcomes every time. We invite you to contact us to set up a team development process and we will get straight to work with you, delivering guaranteed results

  • Linking Skills Profile® (LSP)

Team Management Profile (TMP)
– for anyone in the workplace, individuals and teams

In short the TMP is a workplace-based Team Profile assessment that characterises an individual’s preferences in relation to the way they work, individually and in a team. In other words it brings together personality preferences and work preferences. It was developed in Australia and now used successfully worldwide. It is an almost essential resource for any team leader or manager, and is a brilliant component of any team development process as it gives people amazing insights into improving their own style and maximising their effectiveness in working with others.

Linking Skills Profile – for Leaders

“Linking skills”– link members, roles and styles to build effective team outcomes and are measured by the Linking Skills Profile (LSP). Linking skills are relevant for all team members, but vital for team leaders, managers, and organisational leaders. The LSP is a 360° review tool that provides the basis for a structured development program that can be particularly helpful for new team leaders and managers, as well as any manager without any prior structured management training.

If you are keen to trial a TMP or LSP for application with individuals or teams at work, Contact Us for details.
